Handwoven Embroidered Huipil Coat
Handwoven Embroidered Huipil Coat
The MARMACLUB Handwoven Embroidered Huipil Coat is carefully made by hand based on handwoven cotton fabric in complex patterns.
The allocated embroidery is vintage and upcycled from the beautiful womens blouses, known as Huipils. This traditional blouse is worn by most Guatemalan women featuring unique embroidery and town specific colors or prints. The Huipil is their pride and the personal embroideries are made over several months.
The tailor moves on with the handwoven fabric, and the real magic happens in the cutting and combination with the recycled Huipil embroidery.
The result is a unique precious piece of slow fashion, so sustainable and so very meaningful.
